HIRING ENFORCEMENT OFFICEHotels covered by the Industry-Wide Agreement must give first preference in hiring to workers from closed hotels covered by this Agreement, then to any other workers covered under this Agreement who have been permanently laid-off, and finally to other workers with experience in this industry in New York City. These hotels are also required to post their job openings with the Hotel Division of the New York State Employment Office at 75 Varick Street, 7th Floor. You can register at this office to apply for jobs with signatory hotels. The Union's Hiring Enforcement Office assists union members in registering with the New York State Employment Office. It also monitors compliance by the hotels with the hiring provisions of the contract, and investigates and grieves any violations thereof. Unemployed union members are encouraged to register with this office as well when they are looking for a job. The Hiring Enforcement Office is located at 305 West 44th Street on the Mezzanine Floor. It is open to accept applications and meet with members Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. You can also call the office directly at (212) 492-2121. |
